| ZEO Khawas placed under suspension | | Misappropriated funds worth Rs 1.41 cr | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Feb 9 : A senior assistant in the office of Zonal Education Office (ZEO) at Khawas in Rajouri district has been found involved in misappropriation of government funds worth Rs 1.41 crores and has been placed under suspension by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) for further action. According to information available, ZEO Abdul Rashid had credited the said amount into his account but the details of further disbursement of this amount was not available when the matter was investigated by an inquiry committee constituted by the CEO, Rajouri. Sources in the education department said that after several complaints lodged with Ch Lal Hussain ,CEO by the people of Khawas during his tour to the area , an inquiry was initiated by him against the senior senior assistant vide his office letter No CEOR/P&S/2013-2014/29111-15 dt 22 November 2013. People of the area and some teachers informed the CEO during his tour that there were large scale improper disbursement by the ZEO office of various funds included salaries of the teachers in the Khawas education zone. Taking serious note of the complaints CEO constituted an inquiry team in the month of November,2013. In its report committee members authenticated the complaints lodged by the people and teachers and the committee found indiscretion in disbursement of various finances. The committee also found that amount worth Rs 1,41,12329 under various heads have been transferred into the account of Abdul Rashid but the committee members didn't find the details of disbursement of this amount. After the inquiry report CEO, Ch Lal Hussain vide his office letter No.CEOR/p&s/2013-2014/41166 dt 8/2/2014 has placed Abdul Rashid under suspension and attached to his office till further inquiry/action under law. |
