PDP not to disrupt Guv address to joint LA session
2/9/2014 11:43:16 PM

Bashir Assad

Jammu, Feb 9: The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party has decided not to disrupt the Governor N N Vohra during his address to the joint session of the state legislature on Monday morning nor it will boycott the address of the Governor.
Sources in PDP told Early Times that the party has decided to attend the joint sitting of the state legislature tomorrow during the Governor's address. They said though there are a host of issues to be agitated, however, in order to exhibit parliamentary wisdom, the party has decided not to create ruckus during Governor's address on the opening day of the budget session, instead attend the joint sitting and listen to Governor. Sources said the party convened meeting of the legislature party on Sunday evening to evolve a strategy for agitating on issues of public interest in the legislature during the month long budget session.
"PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti has convened a meeting of the legislature party at her Vaid Mandir residence here at Jammu at 6Pm to evolve a strategy to roundup the government on issues of corruption, miss governance, power crises, unemployment
and other public issues" a senior PDP leader told Early Times.
He said though the party has decided not to disrupt governor during his address to the state legislature but it would certainly roundup the coalition government for its failure to deliver on all fronts. He said the month long session is expected to be very stormy for this being the last budget session of this government and members would try to raise issues vehemently.
Meanwhile National Panthers Party and BJP are likely to disrupt Governor during his address to the joint session of the legislature while as Independent MLA, Er. Rashid may as usual create ruckus during the address. While BJP and Panthers will raise issues of corruption, miss governance and discrimination in creation of new administrative units Rashid will demand
arrest of former minister, Shabir Ahmad Khan accused of molesting a lady doctor in Srinagar.
