| Labourer dies at Bhunzwar Kishtwar | | | ET Report Kishtwar, Feb 9 : A 22 year old labourer of Road and Building Department while working on drilling machine died after a shooting stone hit him at Cherhar-Bhunzwar road in Kishtwar. Police identified the deceased as Mohammed Rafiq son of Abdul Gani resident of Sambol Chatroo in Kishtwar District, Police sources said that the deceased was reportedly hit by the shooting stone and after coming under the influence of shooting stone, he fell from a cliff and landed into deep gorge. Police after getting the information rushed the spot and recovered the dead body, beside also started its investigation. After legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family members for last rites. Senior officials of the department including Executive Engineer also rush to the spot and help the family members and relatives to shift the body of the deceased to his native village which is approximately 50 KM from Kishtwar. Meanwhile the local people blame the illegal extraction of stone as a reason for triggering of shooting stone in the area, particularly on going illegal extraction of stones on Kishtwar to Dool road stretch of Kishtwar-Gulabgard-Himachal Pradesh road. |
