ET Report

Jammu, Feb 9 : Terming the recent announcements of Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) on new administrative units and cabinets approval on implementation of some provisions of 73rd amendments as political gimmickry of National Conference -Congress government ahead of Lok Sabha as well as Legislative Assembly elections, PDP Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has questioned what was the government doing in last five years.
Mufti while addressing a public rally at Kathua town said that NC is habitual of playing such political gimmicks right at the time of elections in the state since last 60 years of its rule under Abdullahs.
He (Mufti) compared the situation with Delhi where UPA had also given Lokpal as a bonus during the election times when Social Activist Anna Hazare and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal are fighting for the same for the last many years.
Mufti called National Conference-Congress leaders as opportunists saying, "The real credit for the new administrative units should go to Billowria Committee however the ground reality is completely different as within just 10-12 days, the Cabinet Sub Committee gave its report and took the entire credit". Taking a jibe at state coalition government, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said that the way one of the Congress Ministers has been charged allegedly for molesting a lady doctor, it has exposed the real face of the government adding that such scandals never happened during PDP's three year regime.
Meanwhile senior PDP leader Upinder Kour also hit out at Choudhary Lal Singh for his abusive language and said that some of the MPs even don't know how to talk with an elderly citizen whereas senior party leader Karan Singh called Farooq Abdullah an academic failure while he was a student of medicine at Jaipur medical college.
