Kishtwar, Feb 11: Police today claimed to have arrested a Hizb militant returning from Pakistan along with his family members from Chenani area on National Highway NH-1A after managing to sneak into Indian side vie Nepal route."Irshad Ahmed Rangreez (43) a Hizb militant while returning from Pakistan along with his family members was arrested by the police at Chenani on Jammu National Highway NH-1A, sources said.As per the details available with "Early Times" 43 year old Irshad Ahmed Rangreez resident of District Doda cross over to Pakistan for arms training the year 1995." He during his stay in Pakistan married to Sumara Begum of Peshawar Pakistan and had three children identified namely as Maroof (10 year), Abeba (6 year) and Ahmed (4 year) from the wedlock, police sources said while sharing details in this regard.Police sources said that during preliminary inquiry, it came to the fore that Irshad Rangreez along with his wife and three children used Nepal route to infiltrate into India territory from where they travel to Jammu and was heading for home at Doda before police nabbed them."All the five persons including Irshad Rangreez, his wife and three children are presently in police custody, sources said while adding, "police is verifying the objective of Irshad Rangreez about his return to Doda if it was to join the main stream or something else." Meanwhile sources added that Police is also scrutinizing the details of involvement of the arrested Hizb militant in Police Station Doda and its adjoining areas to ascertain his involvement in militancy related activities in erstwhile Doda district before he crossed over to Pakistan for arms training. |
