| Governor's address clueless about vital issues: Tarigami | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 11: Describing the Governor's address as clueless about vital issues, the CPI (M) State Secretary and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today said that even important issues like reverting of Pathriabal fake encounter case, withdrawal of Disturbed Areas Act and Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), return of youth under rehabilitation policy and other important issues have not been reflected in it. The other issues which did not find any mention in Governor's address, Tarigami said that he regrets about silence that was maintained over the issue of restarting of LOC trade and also taking effective steps to make it sustainable. "There was no mention in the Address about constituting of Truth and Reconciliation Commission to probe the killings in militancy related incidents in the state, the criteria adopted for creation and rationalization of new administrative units in the state, providing doctors and para-medical staff to the hospitals functioning across the state. The CPI (M) state secretary also expressed disappointment over the silence about steps taken for LT improvement and repairing of damaged transformers in time across the state particularly in the rural areas. "There was no mention in the Address about the submitting of the recommendations by Cabinet Sub Committee in respect of the implementation of Justice Sagheer Committee Report, about providing of ration to the people on the basis of 2011 census." He regretted that the government remained silent about waiving of the interest component in favour of the horticulture growers for their colossal losses due to the hail storm and drought this year, about the payment of wages to thousands of DRWs/Casual labaorers/need bases/CPWs/seasonal labourers working in various departments in the state. "To the utter dismay, there was no mention in the Address about enhancing the ration money/ payment of stalled ration money to the police personnel in J&K and also no mention of formulation of comprehensive policy for regularization/ enhancing honorarium to SPOs and that there is no mention in the Address about the removal of pay anomaly of government employees including police personnel", he said. He opined that that the government has remained silent about the payment of arrears of third installment and pending DA arrears to the state pensioners, about providing of jobs to 90% locals in the construction projects under execution across the state. The CPI (M) state secretary said there was no mention in the Address about exploring the possibilities for absorbing of ever increasing number of unemployed youth in both public and private sector. "There was no mention in the Address about holding of elections to the Urban Local Bodies in the state", he added. |
