| KPs reject Society: 'Nothing short of homeland acceptable' | | | early times report
JAMMU, Feb 11: Kashmiri migrants have warned the Government of encouraging any so called society and assigning them any contract for the rehabilitation of displaced Pandits back in Valley.
Reacting to a notice published by Relief and Rehabilitation orgnisation in a section of press today various KP organisations cautioned the community as well as the displaced Pandits against the move.
They said the so called society floated by some self styled people is aimed at luring the hapless people to return and relieve them of the money received by them from Government.
The KP organisations seeking immediate intervention of Union Government have urged it not to provide funds to the State Government under this package as it will prove a Himaliyan blunder. "The community has not as yet approved the return and rehabilitation package and it stands for carving out of a homeland within Valley as per the Margdarshan resolution of 1991," they said.
The KP leaders while expressing their surprise over the notification alleged that how a private organisation was assigned the job and who had consented it to register the migrants for return. They said that the people associated with the Society are linked to those separatist organizations who want to thwart the homeland movement of Pandits and the migrants who have registered themselves with the Society are playing with the community cause. Panun Kashmir leader Ramesh Manwati while commenting on the move urged the Union Government not to encourage any such Society as it is a move to fleece the community members and can prove counterproductive.
Manwati said the Pandits do not approve the so called Society and the move is just to mislead the community and thwart its united movement for creation of a separate homeland within the Valley. He said some people registering themselves with the so called society are misleading the entire community and hoodwinking it for their personnel interests.
