Hiranagar, Feb 11: Angry over non-supply of water, the residents of village Hamirpur and Garnari today blocked Jammu-Pathankot high way for more than two hours.
The hundreds of villagers were gathered at Hiranagar town and blocked Nation high way for more than two hours. The residents said that they have been facing scarcity of water in their villages for more than a month.
"Seeking regular water supply in our villages, we have met department's officials many times, but they have failed to meet the promises", the villagers said, adding that AEE Hiranagar and XEN Kathua have been fooling them.
"Motor pump for water supply in their villages, are laying idle for a long time, but no one's bothered to mend the same", he said. After knowing about road blockage SSP Kathua, Mohan Lal, SDPO, Border Dewakar Singh Jamwal rushed on stop and pacified the protestor to restore vehicular movement. |
