Jammu, Feb 22: To promote fitness, health conscious and awareness among the girl students, Carmel Convent High School today organise a race "Carmel Marathon" in which the students from classes 5th to 9th participated.
The Marathon " Pragati Ki aur" was flaged off by M.S Kanchan bala deputy director of youth service and sports , in the presence of the school principal Sr. Maria Suzzette A.C and staff the runners left the school gate at 10:00 a.m via satyam resort towards marble market to Greater Kailash Chowk and back to school the distance covered was about 4 kms.
The Marathon was herald of the message to inculcate healthy habits which is the pre- requirement for the progress of the society.
The young Carmelites enthusiastically participated in the event the management staff members, management committee members and the benefactors of the school rendered their full co-operation and support to make this event a success Fr. Kuriakose, the manager of the school , gave away the prizes to the winners. |
