| Shiksha Niketan celebrates Foundation Cum Sports Day | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 21: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar Jammu today celebrated its Foundation Cum Sports Day and Prize distribution ceremony.
Naveen Aggarwal, Director General Youth Services & Sports, Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion, I.D Soni (Commissioner Bharat Scouts and guides) was the guest of honour while Tirath Ram (District Sports officer) was the special guest.
The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp followed by an oath ceremony by a Gold Medalist, namely Lovish Chowdhary in wake India National kick Boxing Championship at National Level to boost up the students of the school to come up with the same spirit in each and every competitive field.
A Holy Shiv Vandana was presened by the toddlers of Pre-Primary wing, which enthralled the audience present there.
The school students presented a variety of items & a skit, which included Punjabi Folk dance, Dogri Dance performance which were greatly appreciated by the large gathering of the dignitaries present there.
Principal of the School, Rameshwar Mengi gave welcome address and then he gave a brief description about the students who excelled in different fields. Different sports activities like Sack Race, Blind Make Up, Ice Cube hold, Basket ball competition, Skipping, Tug of war, Balloon bursting were performed by the participants of different houses.
The National level winners & the Distinction holders were awarded by the Chief Guest Naveen Aggarwal, 1st position holders were awarded by Tarsem Lal ji (CEO), 2nd and 3rd position holders were awarded by I.D Soni (Commissioner Bharat Scouts And Guides). The School management awarded the position holders with cash prize worth Rs.2 lakhs and also an amount of Rs.16 lakhs as Scholarship was already given to the student at the time of admission of 11th class and those students received their Scholarships on 19th Jan,14 on the occasion of Bal Mela Cum Science Exhibition at R.M Public School in Chowadhi. |
