| GGM Science College celebrates National Science Day | | | Early Times Reports
Jammu, Feb 22: GGM Science College in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology J&K and Society for Popularization of Science today celebrated National Science Day. According to press release, SP Vaid (IPS) Additional Director General of Police was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering the Vaid impressed upon the students to pursue Science with the objective of joining the elite class of scientist of International repute. He dwelt at length on how science has transformed the lives of common man and much needed role that science can play in conserving the quality of the environment. On this occasion RS Jasrotia Conservator of Forests in his invited lecture on Science and climate change spoke at length on the impact of changes in climate due to faulty agriculture practices, misuse of energy and comfort giving life style. He recommended the measures to be adopted by society in general and students in particular to reduce the carbon emission, the main culprit behind climate change. Earlier in his welcome address Dr. NK Resutra Nodal Principal of GGM Science College advised the students to develop scientific temper to be rational and analytical in their approach. The voter of thanks was presented by Dr. P Bambroo and the programme was compared by Monica Bhau and Sanjay Sharma. |
