| J&K branch of ICAI bags best branch award | | | Early Times Report
New Delhi, Feb 22: Couple of youngmen of Jammu and Kashmir origin have added another feather to the cap of the state's intellectual calibre when they received a prestigious award for commendable performance in small branches category for 2013 on behalf of J&K branch of Northern India Regional Council of Institute of Chartered Accounts of India in New Delhi today. Dalip Kaul (Chairman)Anil Sharma (Secretary) and Shalay Razdan (Treasurer) received the award from senior BJP leader and leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley at a glittering function in the presence of prominent personalities in diverse fields. CA K Raghu (President ICAI) and CA Manoj Fadnis (Vice Chairman, ICAI), Central Council Members, Office Bearers and Executive Members of NIRC were also present at the occasion. CA Dalip Kaul, Chairman of the J&K Branch highlighted the various initiatives taken by the branch during the past year and stressed on the contribution made by Chartered Accountants to the economy of the State. Under his leadership, the branch successfully conducted numerous continuing professional education programs and workshops where eminent speakers participated from all over the country. Senior Chartered Accountants of the Branch were felicitated to recognise their professional contribution. Various activities for students of chartered accountancy were undertaken. The Branch also released a Member's Directory after a gap of over 6 years. Platforms were organised for better interaction of the members with the Govt. Departments like Income Tax, VAT and Principal Accountant general of CAG of India. Most importantly the building work of the Branch Office at Talab Tillo sped up. The super structure of the building is now completely and the Branch is hopeful to shift its premise in the coming year. The Branch website is also under construction and shall be launched soon. Recognising its contribution towards society, Blood donation camps were organised on CA Day. Donations were also made to the SOS Children's Village in Channi. These awards have been instituted to recognize the commitment and efforts of the State Level Branches of NIRC in taking Chartered Accountants growth agenda forward. The evaluation is done by eminent jury members based on a branch's performance on pre- decided criteria. |
