Jammu, Feb 26: Following strong resentment from State Congress leadership over Chief Minister retaining Health portfolio in wake of resignation of Congress Minister Shabir Ahmed Khan over allegation of molestation, Omar Abdullah today affected minor reshuffle in his cabinet.
As per the Order passed by Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir in Pursuance of Rule 5 of the Jammu & Kashmir Government Business Rules, Congress Minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din Shah has been assigned the additional responsibility of Health department besides Medical Education while Raman Bhalla has been assigned Sports and Youth affairs besides Housing, Horticulture, Culture.
It is pertinent to mention that Omar Abdullah reshuffled portfolios of Congress Ministers after senior Congress leader and former Minister Ghulam Mohammad Saroori denied the offer to take charge of Health Ministry. |
