Dilapidated Jammu roads mock at Govt
2/26/2014 10:49:00 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 26: Official neglect of the city of temples is reflected by the condition of roads some of which have sunk.
The circular road which is in dilapidated condition craves for immediate attention. It was dug for laying of pipes and forgotten.
The government used to repair roads during winter months when darbaar sits here. However, this year the practice was abandoned. If this is the state of affairs now, what will happen when the darbaar moves back to Srinagar? The question haunts the people.
"It seems that we are second class citizens as government is not paying any attention towards us. For more than six months, dust has increased our sufferings and every now and then we go to see doctors," said Mukesh Kumar, a resident of circular road said.
He said that all houses in the vicinity are filled with dust and their vehicles are also filled with it. "No steps have been taken to premix and macadamise the area. We fear when darbar goes back, we may be neglected again," Kumar said, adding that government must take immediate steps to address the issue.
