Alleged 'bigamy case' against KPS officials, HC directs State to file status report

Jammu, Feb 26 (JNF): In a petition filed by one Neeraj Rajput wife of Sanjeev Kumar DySP IRP 20th Bn Pattan seeking disciplinary proceedings in terms of Rule 22 of J&K Government Employees (conduct) Rules 1971 against her husband Sanjeev Kumar (KPS) DySP and one Ms Tajinder Kour (KPS) DySP IRP 15th for contracting second marriage without her consent and permission from the State Govt, Justice Tashi Rabstan of State High Court directed Senior Additional Advocate General to file status report regarding disciplinary action against him.
In a petition filed by one Neeraj Rajput wife of Sanjeev Kumar DySP IRP 20th Bn Pattan seeking disciplinary proceedings in terms of Rule 22 of J&K Government Employees (conduct) Rules 1971 against her husband Sanjeev Kumar (KPS) DySP and Ms Tajinder Kour (KPS) DySP IRP 15th BN, through her counsel Adv Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed has alleged that the petitioner is the legally wedded wife of DySP Sanjeev Kumar and since March 1, 2009 the petitioner has been putting up at her parental home and the petitioner filed a case of harassment/cruelty against her husband before the State Commission for Women where he caused appearance and started paying maintenance initially Rs 2000/- and subsequently Rs 5000 per month. "During the pendency of the proceeding before the Commission, the petitioner came to know that her husband had developed illicit relations with DySP Tajinder Kour who was already married with a police official namely Mehmood Khan s/o Billu Khan r/o Village Buniket Tehsil Surankote after embracing Islam, the petitioner alleged.
Petition also stated that she lodged a complaint to the Home Dept on February 4, 2013 wherein she requested for initiating action against her husband for contracting second marriage with DySP Tajinder Kour as she had not consented for the said marriage. The petitioner has also placed on record a copy of birth certificate of baby girl born on April 18, 2011 at Care-n-Cure hospital Trikuta Nagar Jammu out of the second marriage of her husband and DySP Tajinder Kour. It has further been pleaded that she also served a legal notice upon the state functionaries for taking appropriate action against the two KPS Officers for violating conduct rules but no action has been initiated. The petitioner in her petition has prayed that official respondents be directed to file an action taken report on the complaint of the petitioner followed by legal notice dated September 23, 2013.
