| Air Force station celebrates Women’s Day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 9: A week long programme on the occasion of International Women's Day conducted by Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) at Air Force Station Jammu, concluded, today. Mamta Patange AFWWA (L) Jammu and Shakuntala Joshi, a wife of Retired Air Force Officers, the chief guest of the event, marked the start of the celebration by lighting the lamp. Station AFWWA meeting was conducted on the eve of the International women's day celebration. A cultural event with a variety of entertainment programmes was presented by the "Sanginis". Cultural programme included a welcome song followed by fashion show in traditional dress. A lecture on self grooming was delivered by Rashmi Rathore. A lecture on healthy diet was delivered by Medical Officer of Station Medicare Center. The involvement and participation of "Sanginis" was praise worthy and the response was also tremendous. The wives of retired air warriors and the DSC personnel also participated. The "Sanginis" were very thrilled and happy. Mamta Patange President AFWWA (L) distributed the prizes to all winners of all the events. In the address the President AFWWA (L) congratulated the "Sanginis" for putting up a great show and motivated other "Sanginis" for participation as it improves their overall development. She wished them a Happy International Women day. The weeklong celebration ended with a lunch organized for all the "Sanginis". |
