Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 9: After one more snatching incident in Nanak Nagar area last in which gold chain was snatched from a woman, snatching cases are on rise in Jammu city. Sources said that snatchers last night at around 10 pm struck and escaped with gold chain from the neck of a woman at Shiva Ji Chowk area falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar police station. In this week, this is third snatching incident in Jammu South city. Police sources said that last night at around 10 pm, the woman was going home after attending a marriage ceremony and while reaching near Shiva Ji Chowk, two motorcycle borne snatchers appeared and snatched away gold chain from the neck of the woman. A case in this connection has been registered by police however, no arrest was made in this connection when last reports came in. Pertinently, on March 7 snatchers escaped with a purse containing Rs 25,000 from a woman in Gandhi Nagar area March 4, Snatchers target woman, snatch Rs 49,000 from her as she came out of the ATM kiosk Trikuta Nagar. On Feb 27, gold chain was snatched from a woman at Patoli Morh in Janipur. On Feb 25, Rs 40,000 were snatched from a woman at Satwari. On Feb 9, gold ornaments snatched from a woman at Vinayak Nagar, Muthi. On Feb 8 Rs lakh and gold ornaments were looted on gun point from the house of Supreme Court advocate, S S Lehar at Maheshpura. On Feb 7, snatchers snatched a purse containing gold jewelry worth Rs 1.2 lakh from a woman in Kunjwani. On Jan 23 snatchers snatched gold chain from a woman Nagar. On Jan 17 cash and ornaments looted on gun point from the house of a Principal at Talab Tillo.
