| RDD officials looting state exchequer, benefiting political activists | | Irregularities galore in Kulgam | | Saahil Suhail
Kulgam, Mar 9: Information Sought under the Right to Information Act (RTI) has shockingly revealed irregularities in South Kashmir's Kulgam district by the rural development department, while implementing centrally sponsored schemes. According to information sought by RTI activist Dr Bari, Rural development not only has benefited political activists especially of ruling party National Conference but also has withdrawn bills for fake works while also have repeated executed works in the 2013-14 list with the only aim to withdraw money and loot the state exchequer. Department according to the information have allotted two job cards to a single person. For instance Mohd Ismail Dar who owns two job cards, is withdrawing money through both the accounts. The entries of Mohd Ismail Dar have been made like this, S.NO 183 M Ismail Dar s/o Gh Mohd while as it has repeated at also S.No 185. Dar is a close confident of one of the National Conference leader in the district. RTI activists Dr Bari claims that department has withdrawn 0.70 lakh rupees for Filling of Public Park at Chadder which has never been executed till time. While works like construction of road from Maqbool Thoker to Jamia Masjid with Xing at Chadder has been repeated in this year's plan also withdrawn Rs 60000 & Rs 40000 respectively. RTI activist claimed that works executed in 2011-12 has been repeated in 2012-13 plan and withdrawn money from state exchequer. Bari said that whole irregularities have been done under the nose of senior officials of rural deportment back by concerned Minister Ali Mohd Sagar. He said that since from last year's officials have only benefited political activists while as general public hasn't tasted the fruits despite huge funding from Central Government. |
