| Bad governance increasing alienation among people: Mufti | | PDP to fulfill peoples' urge for change in JK | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 9 : Reaffirming commitment of his party to establish a new system of justice and equality in Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today sought support of every section of the society to fulfill peoples' urge for change in J&K. He said that PDP has fielded best candidates for the Lok Sabha elections so that peoples' issues should be effectively and firmly raised in the Parliament. Addressing a meeting of prominent citizens organized by veteran leader and former Minister Sardar Rangil Singh here this evening,Mufti asked the people to compare credentials and merits of PDP's candidates with nominees of other political parties. "We want to give credible and tested representatives to the people so the party has fielded best candidates for the Lok Sabha elections", he said. He added that with the support and cooperation of the people, PDP is committed to addressing aspirations and wishes of all sections of the society.
Mufti said that change is order of the day and need of the hour is to channelize energy of the people to bring positive change in J&K. "The coming Lok Sabha elections would be a trailer of campaign launched by his party to change present system of corruption and mis-governance", he said and added that people of the State are looking towards PDP to get them rid from the present corrupt, incept and anti-people dispensation. "Unlike other parts of the country bad governance has dangerous ramifications in J&K because failure to provide good governance to the people usually fuelled alienation among common masses in general and youth in particular", he said and added that increasing alienation among youth was result of bad governance in the State. "During the last five and half year alienation among people has increased manifold due to bad-governance in the State", he said. "People are fed up with the mis-governance and rampant corruption in the state so they are waiting for an opportunity to give a befitting reply to this government", he said and sought support of every sections of the society to change destiny of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that victory of Yash Pal Sharma from Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat would script a new chapter in the history of Jammu and Kashmir and would strengthen inter-regional unity in the State. Reaffirming commitment of his party to make institutional arrangements to empower all regions and sub-regions of the Muftisaid that it was result of the good governance of the previous PDP led coalition that there is realization among all sections of the society only PDP has the vision and commitment to address their aspirations.
"Within short span of its formation, the PDP has earned faith and credibility of the people of Jammu and Kashmir", Mufti said and reminded the gathering that during its tenure the PDP led regime had proved its capability of changing life of the common masses by treating all individual equally and providing equal opportunities to all sections of the society. Responding to the demands raised in the meetings, Mufti said that his party would effectively take the issue of one-time settlement of refugees' problems. |
