Jammu, Mar 11 : Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti Tuesday said that women have to play a key role in bring out a change that will usher in an era of political accountability and performance audit for all parties, who have exploited all sections of society.
Addressing a meeting of women wing of PDP Jammu District, Ms. Mehbooba said that the state of Jammu and Kashmir was passing through a crucial stage, where each and every section of society has to play its role in ensuring a better future for coming generation. Women and youth in particular have to come forward and lead the state into the new era of prosperity, she said.
The Peoples Democratic Party, she said, has in a short span of time established that it has vision and policies for all section of society. Women empowerment, she said, has been one of the prime focus of the party and historical measures taken during the government led by Mufti Muhammad Sayeed in empowering and educating women speaks about it.
She asked the women party leaders and workers to reach out to the people and propagate programmes and policies of party in order to garner support for party candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency Yashpal Sharma. The party president, in presence of Shanti Devi president Mahila wing, Surjeet Kour, Deepender Kour and R K Bali, Dist President Jammu Urban, constituted campaign committees of the party's Mahila Wing for Jammu East, West and Cantonment. Surjeet Kour, Geeta Thakur, Ritu Gondhi were nominated as In-charge for Cantonment, Jammu West and Jammu East, respectively.
Sushila Jammwal, Balkeet Sheikh, Nahida, Mumtaz Begum, Naseema, Sandhya Mehta, Arsha, Bimla Billoria, Swarna Podwal, Reeta and Champa Thakur were nominated as member for Cantonment campaign committee.
Kavita Sharma, Ritu Gupta, Kanta, Rekha, Anju Bhan, Raj Kumari, Aarti, Suman, Kajal, Reetu, Rajin, Hema, Radha Kapahi, Komal Thaur, Madhu Gandotra, Asha and Bholi were nominated as member of the campaign committee for Jammu West , whereas Ritu Gondhi, Vijay Raina, Indu Anand, Rama Gondhi, Parveen Akhtar, Asha Verma, Neeru Gupta, Radha Puri and Pholi will be the member of committee for Jammu East. |
