| As Jugal kick starts poll activities in Raipur Domanna, district functionaries remained busy in 'parallel shows' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 11: Amid a sharpened attack against rivlas on a host of political issues, BJP's candidate for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma moved on with a spree of poll activities in Raipur -Domana constituency today. There was a flipside of the BJP's poll scene which made certain things conspicuous indicating all was not well some pockets as regards mood and temper of the distrcit level functionaries is concerned. Though party's candidate was seen busy in corner meetings and road shows, the local functionaries and even some leaders accompanying them were seen busy in organizing parallel programmes while apparently skipping those organised for the candidate.
The party leadership may term this as something normal and required activities to gear up and gain momentum. But sources within the party itself attributed it some sharp differences district functionaries which came to fore and they made explicit by choosing to inaugurate party office and remain involved in the hum drum of this activity almost entire day rather than becoming a part of series of campaign related programmes led by Jugal Kishore Sharma.Jugal was accompanied by Jammu-poonch Parliamentary Constituency Incharge Yudhvir Sethi, MLA of the Assembly constituency Bharat Bhushan besides some senior leaders Bansi Lal Bharti, SC Morcha State President Surinder Bhagat, BJYM Vice President Ashish Sareen, Sarpanch Narinder Singh and Ravi Sharma.This detail was provided by the party press note itself but at the same time it mentioned about other programmess, mainly opening up of election offices having been opened amid a presence of leaders who should have primarily become the part of corner meetings and road shows first. What made this conspicuous is the fact that both set of activities were organised in same areas, clearly the parallel activities, no matter with the latter asserting their committment to 'strengthen the hands of Narender Modi' and pledged the work for the success of Jugal kishore. Sources said some district functionaries were not willing to participate in Jugal's activities as they are not happy with party's decision of taking local MLA back into party fold and therefore uncomfortable with his presence in meetings led by Jugal.Sources said what became obvious was some senior leaders also accompanying these functionaries in organizing parallel activities in the same area rather than becoming a part of Jugal Kishore led activities. These parallel activities were led by State BJP Vice President Col. Uttam Singh, along with State BJP General Secretary Bali Bhagat and Political Advisor to State BJP President Prof. Hari Om.Sources said a large number of workers were seen attending these activities, something which has certainly not given a positive message about the state of affairs at a time when unity and only unity should be slogan and motive of the entire state unit. |
