| IRP conducts Civic Action Programme | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 18: A Civic Action Programme was conducted by IRP 10th Bn at Government Primary School, Bilal Colony Zone Gandhi Nagar Jammu. Besides students and staff members of the school, a number of prominent citizens of the area including Panchayat Members, Chairman and members of Beopar Mandal participated in the programme. As a gesture of goodwill, school bags, notebooks and other stationery items were distributed among the students belonging to downtrodden and under privileged families.Speaking on the occasion, Gunwant Kour, Headmistress of the School appreciated and thanked the Police department for organizing this event which will really prove fruitful to bridge the gap between the police and the general public. She appreciated that such steps will encourage the poor people of the area to send their children to school for studies. The Headmistress pointed out that there is urgent need of constructing boundary wall of the school premises to save the students from any accident as road passes by along the side of the school. Besides drinking water facilities and a computer lab are required to be established for the benefit of students. Vijay Kumar, IPS Commandant IRP 10th Bn in his address to the gathering thanked the participants to join and make the civic action programme successful. |
