| PDP ridicules Hansa Group's opinion poll predicting clean sweep for NC | | `No such exercise undertaken in JK' | | Asif Iqbal Naik JAMMU, Mar 18: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has ridiculed a survey conducted by Hansa Research Group predicting a clean sweep for the National Conference (NC) in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections. The projections of the survey are available on the website of a New Delhi based news channel. A letter has been sent to the news channel seeking clarification on the opinion poll. PDP chief spokesperson Nayeem Akthar said some of the results of previous elections have been repeated in the projections. "The Group has not done any opinion poll in states like Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir and the North Eastern States.” Nayeem said. He said that the channel has clarified on air that no such exercise was held in Jammu Kashmir. "PDP has written the letter to the channel head only to counter the National Conference propaganda which is using the opinion poll to hoodwink public opinion," he said. Interestingly the National Conference is contesting three Lok Sabha seats, Srinagar-Budgam, Pulwama -Anantnag and Baramulla-Kupwara constituencies. Meanwhile, PDP leader Khurshid Alam while talking to Early Times, said the Group has not done any exercise on ground. "It is politically motivated and aimed at benefitting some political parties," he said. "NC does not exist on the ground in contemporary Kashmir. Even senior leaders of NC are ashamed of their performance. The people desperately want a change and PDP has emerged as an alternative," he said. Alam added that the state tops the list of unemployed youth. "It (NC) is disconnected with the people. The only connection with the people is through police.. |
