Malik addressed series of public meetings at Chowki Janrode, Ramnagar, Nagrota Panjgrai in Ramnagar and and Railway Chowk in Udhampur assembly segments in connection with the on-going campaign for the Lok Sabha elections and sought support of the people for party. He said that there was political vacuum after formation of NC-Congress alliance and PDP has fulfilled this vacuum and this party has become voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. "Neither Congress nor BJP can represent aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir so PDP is the one and only party which is emerging as alternative to the National Conference", they said. In these meetings many local leaders of National Conference joined PDP and expressed faith in the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti. Those who joined PDP include Ch Mohd Mirza, Ch Yaqoob, Ch Latif, Ch Noor, Hussain, Ch Mohd Shfiq, Ch Noor Alam, Manzoor Ahmad and others. |
