Jammu, Mar 24:The Civil Defence Jammu Town and State Disaster Response Force ( SDRF) Jammu in collaboration With The NSS Unit of Sant Mela Singh College of Education Digiana jammu, organized a live demonstration of Disaster Management as part of one day awareness Programme here on Monday Under the guidance of ADGP Home Gaurd/Civil Defence and SDRF Jammu and Kashmir D.R.Dole Burman. The programme was organised under the NSS unit of the college headed by Jasmeet Kour Programme officer. Deputy Controller Civil Defence, Tajinder Kour was Chief Guest on the occasion. Chairman of the College, Anmol Singh who presided over the function, appreciated the efforts of SDRF for bringing awareness among masses especially the younger generation about disaster management and the civilian defence. A team of Civil Defence / State Disaster Response Force comprising of Deputy Divisional Warden Civil Defence,R. Vijay Magotra, Sub. Inspector Sanjeev, Ram Chand , Rashpal Singh and Vikas sharma, others made live demonstration of various rescue operations like fire fighting, parallel rope, chair knot, stretcher through ladder. They also displayed highly sophisticated rescue machines for disaster management. Principal of the college Dr. Kiran Luthra said N.S.S provide students an opportunity of working togather for the comman cause. Over 70 NSS volunteers, other students and some staff members of college were trained various techniques like first aid, fire fighting, earth quake and flood rescue operations etc. |
