| BFDC discusses Navratra's arrangements | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 24: Bahu Fort Development Committee (BFDC) held meeting under the Chairmanship of Baldev Nagotra and presided over by its President Kr Rajeev Charak at Mata Maha Kali Mandhir Bahu Fort Jammu premises to discuss upcoming Navratra's arrangements Rafiq Manhas Dy SP, SDPO (East) Jammu was Chief Guest on the occasion while Gouri Shanker Sharma, Dy SP Traffic, Kirpal Singh, Curator, Archaeology Department, Subash Verma-Divisional Fire Officer Jammu, CMO Jammu and Health Officer Jammu, CMO Jammu attended the meeting as guests of honours. Among other prominent president included B B Sharma - Officer Floriculture Garden & Parks Station House Officer Sunil Sharma & Inspector Vikram Singh were also present on the occasion. In his address Rajeev Charak apprised the chief guest and other special invitees about the difficulties faced by the pilgrimages who visit the holy Shrine and highlighted the difficulties as like sanitation and street lights problems. He also raised the issue of scarcity of drinking water and parking lots in the area. Raising demand trading community and visitors of Mata Maha Kali Shrine, he demanded the complex may be roofed / covered with the fibber sheets so as to protect pilgrims from rains and hot summer days. He also demanded to construct a Gate (Darshani Darwaza) at the main entrance of Mata Maha Kali Shopping Complex for Security Purpose, and ramp for the convenience of handicap visitors who visit here on their wheel chairs. Chief Guest Rafiq Manhas Dy SP, SDPO (East) Jammu said that appreciated the efforts of committee for been supportive in conducting smooth Navratras festivity twice in the year since 1998. He however advised the volunteers of BFDC to deal the pilgrims politely as at times the situation goes out of control only because of individual ego clashes. Dr Sanjay Turki CMO Jammu, briefed the members with the health facilities to be provided including ambulance service for 24 hours during Navratras. Dr Mohd Salim Khan, Health Officer Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) on this occasion assured necessary steps to be taken for the better sanitation arrangement during festival. |
