Jammu, Mar 24 : Police today arrested a narcotics peddler and recovered over one kg of poppy straw from his possession during a naka checking at Gajansoo area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Domana. "The accused has been identified namely as Ashok Kumar of Marh, Gajansoo, police said.
Police spokesman said that during naka checking at Gajansoo, Marh near Krishna Palace, police team intercepted a pedestrian or his suspicious movement.
"Police recovered 1 Kg 250 gms of Poppy Straw from his possession during his personal frisking which he was carrying to further dispense to the drug addicts," said spokesman adding that the accused was arrested by the police. A case against FIR No. 113/14 u/s 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered against the accused at Domana Police Station while further investigation is on. |
