The SHRC has repeatedly directed the bank to re-employ the ousted employee but all in vain. The commission has shot a notice on March 22 to Senior Manager Personnel, Branch Manager of the bank directing her to appear in person before the commission. The commission vide its order has stated that Senior Manager Personnel, J&K Grameen Bank has addressed a communication dated 20/04/2012 to this commission stating therein that the Branch Managers Sial Sui and Tatapani were directed to allow the complainant namely Veerta Devi to join her service at either of the place. Pertinently the complainant was forcibly ousted of the bank branches at Tatapani and Sial Sui where she was rendering her services on the day when local National Conference MLA Rachpal visited the bank and sought clarification of these managers as to why they engaged her without the consent of the MLA following which she was approaching all concerned for justice. The commission was reported that she was not allowed to join despite the clear cut directions from the head office. In order to resolve this controversy the commission has asked the Senior Manager Personnel, Branch Manager Sial Sui and Tatapani J&K Grameen bank Jammu be preent in person on 28/03/2014-the next date of hearing and order in this context has been issued to the managers through Dy.SP SHRC Sub Office Jammu and email mode. Veerta Devi was engaged by the Bank against monthly salary of Rs 100 which was later on enhanced to Rs 200. Later on, as per the case history, as the complaint was qualified, the management of the bank appreciating her capacity and capability asked her to work in official capacity enhancing the salary further to Rs 1200 per month and was later on directed to assist the management of the back at two different places i.e. Tatapani and Sial Sui but on July 16, 2009, local MLA Rachpal Singh along with his supporter noticed her working for the bank and slapped her outraging her modesty and was subsequently rendered jobless through his political impact. The victim then approached Commission and sought justice. Commission asked DGP, J&K Police, Senior Manager personnel, SHO concerned to report the authenticity of the matter. Commission came to know through DGP and SHO concerned that local MLA had visited the bank that day but denied about the outraging of modesty of the woman. In the meantime, Assistant Labour Commissioner Rajouri directed the concerned to pay Rs. 79800 to the victim and one of the branch manager paid her the amount while other did not react to the directions of the commission. Paying of victim by one of the manager was considered as an evidence that she was engaged by the branch manager and hence the commission asked Senior Manager concerned to re-engage her in the bank but as one of them has not reacted, the commission has issued notice to the Senior Manager Personnel, J&K Grameen bank, Branch Manager Tatapani and Branch Manager Sial Sui to appear before the commission on next date which has been fixed as 28/03/2014 respectively. |
