| Alleging nexus between Relief Org, NC leaders, BJP seeks probe in 'Jagti flats allotment' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 2 : Leveling serious allegations of unholy nexus between the moles at Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner and some National Conference leaders, the Bhartiya Janta Party, Mahila wing said this nexus has made allotments at Jagti on pick and choose basis and also on money considerations while leaving the genuine families to face brunt. Sheela Koul Handoo member Working Committee J&K and Ex Corporator W-64, in a press statement issued here today, stated list of allottees the number of which is around 700 families is not being displayed despite the request being made by migrants to the Relief &Rehabilitation Commissioner. "The allotment slips are being issued even after the model code of conduct came into force, she said and added, "These facts have already been brought to the notice of the administration and government and even to general public during a media conference addressed by me some fortnight ago. She said the allegations leveled earlier in this press briefing now have been established, she stated. "During the intervening night of 28/ 29 this month, she said adding, "one of the leaders of National Conference (NC) managed forceful entry into four quarters by breaking open the locks and managed to settle four families without any allotment." "However on intervention of the tenants, the police was brought to the site and also the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner was forced to reach site and families who were provided these quarters alleged that they have paid Rs 30000/- to one Nana Ji Dembi and he has assured that the allotment letters shall be provided to them after they pay balance of Rs.30000/-, she stated. Citing example of corruption and unholy nexus, BJP Mahila wing leader Ms Handoo stated, that one of the lady alleged that Dembi who has patronage of Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner and Ex-Head Quarter Assistant Ravinder Bakshi has collected money from number of families and most of them have already been allotted quarters. "The police arrested Dembi, however he was released after the intervention of the legislature of National Conference, she added. She claimed that we are in possession of the evidences how flats were provided flats without formal allotment and how they (beneficiaries) have handed over the money to Dembi. She also has alleged that in order to seek political protection Dembi joined National Conference. "The nexus between the NC Minority Cell and the officers of the Relief Organization need to be exposed, she said. BJP Women Wing leader also demanded the list of allottees shall be displayed by Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner Organization without any delay besides name of those whose applications have been rejected. She stated if the administration and the police authorities fail to take action against the guilty we will be forced to approach to Governor and President of India for enquiring into the matter. |
