Avinash Azad Jammu, March 2: In glaring instance of land grabbers enjoying political and administrative patronage, a colony is being illegally developed in connivance with lower rung officials of revenue department in brazen breach of order issued by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu. As per case detail Dineshwar Singh filed a complaint in Samadhan regarding unregistered residential colony coming up near Bajalta Railway station. Documents in the possession of Early Times divulge that the Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jammu has failed to comply with DC’s order to act under law. Taking cognizance of complaint filed with him, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, on March 7, 2014 directed AC Revenue to take action and submit final action taken report before or by March 22, 2014. “A time bound action is required to be taken at your end under intimation to in-charge Samadhan Kendra of this office”, the DC directed AC Revenue. But even after lapse of stipulated time period, no report has been submitted to the Dy. Commissioner Jammu, sources said. As per photographs in possession of this newspaper, M/s Aksa Builder and Colonizer, owned by Mohd Iqbal Batt Contractor, was selling the plots unauthorizedly. Sources further said that the land where construction is being carried out falls under Khasra number 380 and 282- a Gair Mumkin Khad. Earlier, the width of the said Khad was 245 feet, but it has shrunk, as more than 200 feet area falling within Khad has been encroached for construction. Sources maintained that despite repeated communication to police and revenue officials, nothing has been done so far. “The colony is being developed on un-authorized land. The colonizer is selling plots in the colony that sans permission and legal documents”, the applicant mentioned in his application submitted to Samadhan Kendra. Despite repeated attempts by this correspondent to DC, but failed to get any response.
