Basohli (Kathua), Apr 14 : Communal forces are trying to mislead the masses, the Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control & Chairman Election Campaign Committee, Sham Lal Sharma asked the people to give befitting reply to such forces in the election while addressing a largely attended public meeting at village Hatli in Basohli constituency and sought support for the Kathua-Udhampur candidate, Ghulam Nabi Azad. He said BJP has hatred agenda; their view point is to incite the sentiments of innocent masses in the name of religion, caste, creed, color and regionalism. They become active at the time of elections only and after the elections are over, they disappear and never available to the public. Their role is totally negative and dismal in Jammu and Kashmir as they cannot become partner in the Government, thus supporting this party is a futile exercise and wasting the votes. Appealing the people to support the candidature of Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad in the Parliament election, the Minister said that Azad has unblemished track record and is an experienced leader and people must vote for him and ensure his victory with huge margin. Maintaining that Jammu and Kashmir is solely dependent on the Centre as far as financial aspects are concern, the Minister said that State has to maintain cordial relations with the Central Government to ensure overall development. The Congress also entered into coalition with the National Conference keeping in view the futuristic political scenario; therefore, the elections in the State are being fought under the coalition arrangements to ensure the victory of all the coalition candidates. This is the viable and useful for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He asked the people to ensure the victory of the joint candidate of Congress-NC, Azad. Ex-Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation and senior Congress leader, Ch. Manmohan, Pankaj Dogra, retired SP, Sardar Khan also accompanied the Minister. Manmohan, Pankaj Dogra, Sardar Khan and prominent leaders of the area also addressed the gathering and appealed for support to Ghulam Nabi Azad in the election. |
