| After Congress, Mehboob Beg facing dissent from within | | Fallout of dynastic politics | | Saahil Suhail
Anantnag, Apr 14: Although Senior Congress leader and Jammu Kashmir state Tourism Minister Ghulam Ahmad Mir, who is heading the campaign for the coalition candidate in South Kashmir has broken the ice and organized a rally of its workers in Qammer Dooru yesterday, The hurdles in the way of National Conference candidate Mehboob Beg seem to be increasing each day. Coalition candidate is facing tough criticism on ground as well as within party leadership especially in South Kashmir, as Mehboob Beg has finally decided to bring his son into the politics. "Intentions of Mehboob Beg bringing his son into state politics got exposed the day he filed his nomination, when posters and hoardings of Dr Sahab along with his own son were found erected inside Dak Bunglow which was the venue for coalition rally," said, NC leader wishing anonymity. He said that installed posters and hoardings were removed by an infuriated National Conference leader on the grounds that party leaders were making them sacrificial goats just to encourage dynastic politics. Beg's son was included in Youth National Conference in year 2013, However he claims to be Vice President of party youth wing on his Facebook page which couldn't be confirmed. "If Mehboob Beg succeeds in defeating the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti he will arm-twist a restructuring within the party in South Kashmir," He said. NC leaders who believe that after win, Mehboob Beg can actively take part in finalizing the names for assembly polls; those constituency representatives have started adjusting themselves in Beg lobby. Apart from Anantnag assembly constituency the party workers in other constituencies where party leaders have managed to make ground because of anti-incumbency of factor of sitting MLA's, openly show the resentment before party leadership. "We ask the question and definitely it is our right. What happened to MPLANDS funds? We are living our lives at high risk and if they can't take care of the development of our areas for which we are voting, they must free the space." said Mohmmad Saleem a noted political activist, adding his vote is for local NC leader not for candidate as he has not contributed in the development of their area. |
