| Baisakhi Mela draws huge crowd | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 14 : Day three of Five day Baisakhi Mela being organized by Directorate of Tourism Jammu draws huge crowd at Mubarak Mandi. The heritage complex Mubarak Mandi wore the festive look as the children waved sitting on the camel hump. The camel ride has become the source of joy and enjoyment of people of all age group and children in particular. The ethnic food stalls of dogra cuisine are luring people to visit again and again and revive their old memories attached with this kind of food. The handicraft stalls put up by different states are also attracting lot of buyers. The craftsmen belonging to Chattisgarh, Punjab, Gujarat, Assam and Madhya Pardesh depicting their craftsmanship by live demonstration before the visiting people in the Mubarak Mandi Complex. Earlier, Director Tourism Soujanya Sharma in his welcome address thanked people for their overwhelming support in making this festival a grand success. He said that these kinds of festivals help tourism to grow in manifolds. The message conveyed through these festivals and fairs go beyond boundaries of our state and country and the tourist are compelled to visit this beautiful state. He said that the cultural programme will continue up to 16thof April, 2014 and requested all to be part of it every day at 7 p.m. daily.
