Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 14: Jammu Youth Forum has demanded from Chief Minister to forward the case of Election Assistant to State Vigilance Organization (SVO) and immediate reinstatement of suspended EA Parveen Akhtar.
In this regard a protest demonstration was held against Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Umang Narula, in Rajouri. Large number of protesters blocked the road for one & half hour in Rajouri. Addressing protesters, JYF district president Mohd Akram Ahmed said that the state government has failed to forward the case of Election Assistant (Praveena Akhtar) to State Vigilance Organization (SVO) and holding of a separate inquiry against DC Jammu and other officials, for their callousness to lodge FIR over blank cheques. Ahmed said that it was very astounding that union government has been claiming about women empowerment across country, but on the other hand a women official was being harassed and no First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged by administration on the complaint of EA Parveen Akhtar, who had levelled very serious allegations against the ADC Jammu Kalyan Singh, MLA Indu Pawar and Shahnaz Choudhary AC (G). He further said that as per complaint of Parveena Akhtar, Shahnaz Choudhary (ACG) had given a complete blank cheques book, got sealed and signed by Tehsildar Jammu and had directed Parveena, to draw huge amount of money through her personal account for handing over the same to Shahnaz Choudhary. "As EA had refused to do such an illegal transaction in respect of public money, the said officers, MLA had started harassing Parveena Akhtar, which is very serious crime and it needs a through inquiry, by State Vigilance Organization (SVO)", he said. JYF President further said that at one hand state government as well as Election Commission of India (ECI) has been stressing for free and fair elections. "But if the persons, who are exposing the misdeeds of authorities, which are creating hurdles in fair election process, are being left Scot free, than how fair elections will be held in state", he said, adding that EA Parveena Akhtar was suspended to save the skin of some officers, who were under the strong patronage of some politicians.
Appealing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene, President JYF said that a thorough probe of entire episode should be conducted. "The property and service record of ADC and AC(G) as posted in DC Office should be probed so that system of justice should be created in state otherwise honest people would completely lost their faith in democratic process", he said.
