| POK resident comes home after 49 years to die | | Bereaved hail administration, army for hospitality | | Mohd Shafiq Nazki Chakan-da-Bagh, Apr 23: For forty-nine years he dreamed of visiting his native place . However, when the auspicious moment came, he breathed his last. Nonagenarian Shakru, son of Fakru of Hamidabad Colony, Chack Sawari, Tehsil and District Hamirpur of Azad Kashmir entered Poonch via Chakan-da-Bagh with a valid permit and visited his relatives in Poonch after 49 years with his son Mohd Shehzad and breathed his last at Poonch. After Shakru fell ill at his residence at Kasbaladi Mendhar, he was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Mendhar on the night of April 21 and on the next day hospital administration declared him dead. On further questioning about cause of death, BMO Mendhar Dr. Parvez Ahmed Khan claimed that Fakru died to heart attack. SDPO Mendhar Surinder Choudhary, Probational Dy SP at present SHO Mendhar Burhan-ul-Haq, Tehsildar Mendhar Mohd Rafiq Mughal prepared documents related to the death of the nonagenarian following which His Namaz-e-Janaza was also performed at Tehsil Complex Mendhar and the dead body was handed over to PoK authorities at Chakan-da-Bagh at 6:00 Pm. Bereaved son Mohd Shehzad thanked locals, administration and Indian Army especially for their hospitality and wished to see both neighbourers together on the geography of the world.
