| All demands agreed, Tehsildar to probe allegations against SHO Dachhan, Inshan | | Deadlock between agitating employees and Kishtwar administration ends | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, Apr 23: Four day deadlock between the agitating employees and Kishtwar administration ended today after all the demands of the employees including withdrawal of FIRs against polling staff were agreed in principal by the Deputy Commissioner, Javed Ahmed Khan and Deputy Inspector General of Police Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range Ashkoor Wani during a late night marathon meeting which lasted for more than 2 hours. As per details available with Early Times after day long protest and complete shutdown of all the government offices in Kishtwar District, the deadlock between the employees and administration ended after all the FIRs registered against the polling staff were withdrawn, besides the administration constituted three member inquiry committee to be headed by Tehsildar Kishtwar Falail Singh to probe into the allegations leveled against SHO Dachhan and Warwan. Executive Engineer PMGSY Kishtwar Division Mohammad Ashraf Gilkar and Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Kishtwar Javed Kichloo or Principal Degree College Shakeela Zarger will be the other members of the inquiry committee. During the meeting between the core committee members of Kishtwar Employees front and the administration, Lecturer Forum Kishtwar raised the issue of appointment of lecturers/Masters on magistrate duty and pledged that due to engagement of teaching staff on magisterial duty, the work in educational institution suffers badly. The DC exempted all lectures and Masters from magistrate duty henceforth. With regard to the issue of registration of an FIR against SP Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal, it was stated by both the senior officials that the issue is lying with Election Commissioner of India (ECI) and added that ECI is now the final authority to take the final call and decide over the issue after seeking reply from the SP Kishtwar who will put forth his defense before the commission. The Issue of TA & DA of employees on poll duty was also addressed and DC assured the agitating employees that he will pay them the appropriate TA & DA to the employees according to their jobs assigned to them by the election authority. DIG Ashkoor Wani assured all the employees that the police will not indulge in any act of vengeance. He said the people found guilty shall be dealt with iron hand. During the course of the meeting, both the officers stressed need for cordial relationship between the employees, administration and the police. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and DIG also hailed the contribution of the employees in conducting the free and fear election. The DIG informed the meeting that all the employees assigned with polling duties in far flung and inaccessible areas of the District has been airlifted and added that all those employees who left the stations by foot are safe and will reach at Kishtwar by today evening itself. Later a written agreement was signed between the agitating employees and the administration in which all the genuine demands of the employees was agreed in principal. All the leaders of Kishtwar Employment Front express its sincere thanks to media, employees of Chatroo, Padder, Bhunzwah and all its supporters for their help in highlighting their genuine demands. Kishtwar Employees Front also announced that all the employees' related issues will be fight under this banner in future as well. It is pertinent to mention that confrontation between the employees and the administration worsen after SP Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal allegedly manhandle and use abusive language against ARO Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik who later write to ECI seeking his intervention, beside directed SHO Police Station Kishtwar to register an FIR against SP Kishtwar. |
