Srinagar, Apr 23: Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested dentist for allegedly sexually molesting a woman patient in state's summer capital Srinagar, an official said here on Wednesday.
He said the dentist, Dr Shafiq-ur-Rehman, was arrested for allegedly sexually molesting a woman at his clinic in uptown Maisuma near city centre Lal Chowk. "The dentist was arrested after the woman lodged a complaint with the police, he added.
Based on the complaint, the concerned police registered a case against FIR 34/2014 u/s 509 RPC and have started further investigations in this regard.
"In her complaint, the woman has alleged that the doctor tried to molest her when she visited his private clinic for root-canal treatment, official said.
The accused doctor, who hails from Nishat locality on outskirts of Srinagar city, presently works in a government medical facility in Pulwama district of South Kashmir and also had private the clinic at old city. |
