| Earth Day, Book Day observed at 1st Step Tutorial | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 23: 1st Step Tutorial today organized a 'Drawing and Essay writing competitions on the topic "Save Earth" to mark the Book Day and the Earth Day as well. Atleast 65 students participated from various classes participated in the competition.
Chief Guest B L Kapoor, State Chairman, J&K Human Rights Watch, in his inaugural address appreciated the initiative undertaken by Viney Gupta, Director 1st Step Tutorial host institute. He said such event will make students aware about the significance of books and the conservation of the planet earth with the help of the young generation.
In a speech, Director of host institution, Gupta appreciated the performance of the students. He mentioned that the World Book Day was celebrated for the first time on 23 April 1995 as a way to honour the author 'Miguel de Cervantes' and 'William Shakespeare' who died on that day.
Underlining that books are best friend to humans as these update our knowledge, he advised students to focus on their studies for better career. |
