SRTC voluntarily retired employees' hold protest

JAMM, Apr 23 : To lodge their protest against the state government for its non-serious attitude adopted towards the retired employees of SRTC, a demonstration here today.
The protest was held under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali President VRS Union and S.Surinder Singh General Secretary it was strongly criticized the attitude of the J&K SRTC and Transport Higher Authorities towards the VRS/GRS employees.
That our case for due benefits of the VRS/GHS employees of J&K SRTC - such as COLA arrears, Leave Salary, Gratuity ex-gratia grant pending bills was misrepresented before the Finance Department and the bills are lying for the last 3 years in the Finance Departments total amount is Rs.30,16,10,673.00. And this huge amount lying with the Finance Department Civil Sectt. Jammu and deserves compound interest @12% p.a. J&K SRTC and Finance Department are bent upon to harass the VRS/GHS employees of J&K SRTC.
VRS/GHS employees are giving the dharnas and demonstrations for the last 4 years for their legitimate dues but Finance Deptt and J&K SRTC do not care at all and VRS/GHS employees and their families are suffering badly. The VRS/GHS employees are being grinded both ways -one way their services nave gone and secondly their dues are not being cleared till date as they were promised to clear all dues within 60 days from theUate of VRS/GHS. It means the VRS/GHS employees have been cheated.
That means 126 slabs of Cost of Living A Howance (COiR:) an$) pending arrears since 1999 and arrears of 6th pay commission. arrears w.e.f. 1.1.2006. In the said demonstration among others these were Kulbir Singh, J.D.Singh, B. V. Sharma, Prem Nath, Ehsan Elahi, Surjit Singh, Surinder Singh, Sain Mohd, and others were presen
