Miscreants decamped with Rs 3 lakh from Sarpanch

Rajouri, Apr 23 : In an incident today at Rajouri some miscreants struck and decamped after snatching Rs 3 lakh from a Sarpanch near Police Station Thanamandi who was sitting in a stranded Matador. Haji Gulazar Hussain of village Alal boarded a Matador Tuesday for his journey to Rajouri to purchase some ornaments for his son's marriage.
Sources added that four miscreants who were reportedly following the sarpanch hit him on the head with iron rod and when sarpanch fell unconscious, all the miscreants fled along with a bag containing the money. Immediately after the incident some shopkeepers raised the alarm and also informed the police. Before the police could reach the spot all the accused fled from the spot and injured sarpanch was shifted to district hospital at Rajouri. On the statement of Haji Gulazar Hussain police has registered a case under sections 323,382 RPC against all the accused who were identified by the sarpanch as Basharat Hussain, Shabaz Khan, Tahir Anjum and.
