| Doda Sarpanches condone resignation threats: Malik | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 15: Rejecting the news reports with regard to threat of a-mass resignation by the Sarpanches and Panches, President Doda Sarpanch Association Javed Ahmed Malik today condoned the said reports appeared in certain media section and added that the sarpanches/ Panches of various Panchayats of District Doda have rejecting such statements outrighlty.
"Those who are issuing such statements are not the real representatives of Sarpanches, he said and added, "we have been elected by the people for development of our respective areas and we are committed to fulfil the wishes of common public." In a press statement issued today, Malik stated that though we have certain issues with the state government but these issues can be sorted out amicably--- but we strongly condemn the statement of the so called representatives of Sarpanches from Kashmir valley regarding the mass resignation Terming the statement regarding the resignation as personal statement of few valley based Sarpanches, the Sarpanch Raiz Ahmed Sheikh representing Ghat Panchayat of Doda District and Sarpanch Des Raj of representing Kuddhar Panchayat of Baghwa stated that it has nothing to do with our association of the Sarpanches.
Asserting that they will continue their fight in a democratic way for strengthening of the Panchayati Raj Institution in the state, Doda Sarpanch Association representatives said that they are committed for the betterment and welfare of the people who had voted for them during Panchayat elections. |
