Residents stage protest against PDD at Kathua 5/16/2014 12:26:58 AM Early Times Report Kathua, May 15: The residents of Panchayat Kiri on Thursday staged protest demonstrations against the Power Development Department (PDD) for its failure to restore electricity in the area for the past five days.The protest was held under the banner of youth wing of PDP led by the vice president of the wing Vikas Upadhaya and senior PDP leader Ajit Paul. In the protest apart from the PDP leaders the residents of Kiri Rakesh Singh, Happy, Sanju Slaria and Happy along with large numbers of residents raised the slogans against the PDD for being failed to restore electricity due to the burning of transformer. They said five days ago the whole panchayat transformer developed some technical snag adding that since then the area was reeling under darkness."Without electricity we are living like prisoners in our homes in the night hours," they said.
