| DB takes serious note for non- compliance of order | | PIL on development of Court Complex | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 15 : In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed Bar Association Jammu and Sumit Nayyar seeking various development around Court complex including parking, new road, health center and security of the Advocates, Judges and Litigants, Division Bench (DB) of State High Court directed Chief Secretary of J&K State to enforce the decisions taken by the committee under the supervision of the Registrar General of the High Court and in consultation with the President, Bar Association, Jammu. When this PIL came-up for hearing, Division Bench comprising Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur observed that the copy of order March 6, 2014 has been sent to Chief Secretary J&K but compliance report has not been filed. "Only it has been stated that sanction has been accorded for release of Rs.54.00 lakh in favour of Chief Engineer, PWD(R&B) Jammu for placing the same at disposal of the Managing Director, J&K PCC Ltd, court observed and further granted two weeks' time to Chief Secretary for compliance of order dated March 6, 2014. Court also directed Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) shall ensure regular supply of drinking water within the Court premises. Earlier the Court had directed Chief Secretary of J&K State to enforce the decisions taken by the committee under the supervision of the Registrar General of the High Court and in consultation with the President, Bar Association Jammu. As per the suggestion made through the Registrar General World Sanitation Environment, a private organization like Sulabh has already been contacted by the Registrar General. The Chief Secretary may expedite the implementation of the decision by giving it priority, within a period of two weeks, the court said.(JNF) |
