Supertime Scale to four Sessions Judges, Selection Grade to six Sessions Judges granted

Jammu, May 15 : A full Court meeting under the Chairmanship of Chief Justice MM Kumar through Video Conferencing in which landmark decision having a far reaching effect granted Super Time Scale to four and Selection Grade to six Sessions Judges who had been promoted prior to 27th October, 2009.
According the meeting Adhoc District and Sessions Judges, who have been promoted after 27th October, 2009, the High Court has resolved that their regularization shall be considered in accordance with the criteria laid down in the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Judicial Service Rules, 2009. In this regard, High Court has constituted a Committee of first four senior most Judges.
In a Full Court meeting High Court granted Super Time Scale to Ashok Kumar Sharma presently posted as Registrar Judicial J&K High Court Jammu Wing, Mohd Shafi Khan(Retd as Principal Sessions Judge Srinagar), Sanjay Kumar Gupta presently posted as Principal District & Sessions Judge Rajouri and Suresh Kumar Sharma presently Registrar General of State High Court, Selection Grade, from the dates of occurrence of the respective vacancies. "Besides this, Rajesh Sekhri presently posted as Principal District & Sessions Judge Ramban, Ramesh Kumar Wattal presently posted as Principal District & Sessions Judge Udhampur, Sanjeev Gupta presently posted as 3rd Additional Sessions Judge/Presiding Officer TADA/POTA Court, Kikar Singh Parihar presently posted as Additional District & Sessions Judge Doda, Aijaz Ahmad Mir presently posted as Registrar Judicial J&K High Court Srinagar Wing, Abdul Rashid Malik presently posted as Principal District & Sessions Judge Anantnag and Inder Singh presently posted as Principal District & Sessions Judge Samba have been granted Selection Grade, from the dates of occurrence of the respective vacancies.
Meantime the Full Court Meeting another significant decision, High Court has resolved to permit J&K Public Service Commission to conduct a Screening Test for short listing the candidates, who have applied for KCS Judicial Examination for the written examination. High Court has also sought the creation of two Special Courts for trial of terror related cases on day to day basis, one in Jammu and one in Srinagar, along with connected infrastructure.(JNF)
