Lok Adalat held at Gandoh

KISHTWAR, May 21: A Lok Adalat cum legal awareness camp was organized in the premises of Munsiff Court Gandoh, Bhalessa today under the administrative guidance of Principal District and Session Judge Bhaderwah and Chairman of District Legal Service Authority M K Sharma. The Lok Adalat was presided over by Sandeep Sen, Chairman Tehsil Legal Service Authority and Munsiff Gandoh, Bhalessa. Around 16 cases of civil and criminal nature were taken up in the Lok Adalat out of which 10 cases were disposed off on spot by meditation, conciliation and negotiation.
Traffic challans in addition were also taken up and all of them were disposed off with a recovery of Rs 700 on the spot.
The participants were informed about the right of the people under the Legal Service Authority Act and about the concept of Lok Adalat, how to get the cases referred in the Lok Adalat and about the provisions of free competent legal service being provided by the committee besides the mandatory provisions of Cr.PC from FIR/Complaint to the trail stage.
Besides Advocates, members of TLSC also attended the lok adalat cum awareness camp.
