| Ex minister Manjit warns PDD against frequent power cuts | | | Early Times Report
Vijaypur, May 21: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today threatened Power Development Department (PDD) of Samba district to go for agitation against unnecessary curtailment in his constituency putting poor people to suffering. In a statement, the senior Congress leader said political considerations are kept in mind by the PDD officials due to which transformers wherever got damaged are not replaced timely. "The people are put to suffering only because of their affiliation with other political party.
The transformers are repaired only after a MLA asks them to do so," he alleged. The former Minister said that the people have anger against the administration in Samba and they would start agitation in case the power scenario did not improve in coming days.
He also said that ahead of paddy season the power crises has deepen in Vijaypur as the farming community is worried for its routine agricultural practice in the want of non functioning of electric pumps which are used to irrigate their crops. |
