Patwari lands in vigilance net while accepting bribe

Jammu, May 21: State Vigilance Organization Jammu (SVO-J) today arrested a Patwari red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe in lieu of issuing a Fard. Meanwhile in another case of graft/trap case registered by SVO-J, a local court granted 10 days police remand to the arrested I/C PP khelani SI Rahul Dogra, According to SVO-J spokesperson, following a complaint filed by Sunil Sharma s/o Rattan Chand of Chak Patyari, Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu with Vigilance Organization, Jammu alleging therein that Patwari Chak Patyari, Bishnah has demanded Rs 8000/- as illegal gratification from him for issuance of Fard.
"The complainant has further averred that on 20/05/2014 he had paid Rs. 2500/- to the said Patwari under compelling circumstances and balance amount of Rs 5500/- is to be paid to the Patwari today, spokesperson said adding, "acting on the complaint a case against FIR No. 13/2014 u/s 5(2) J&K PCAct & 161 RPC was registered.He said, "Accordingly under the supervision Rupender Kumar Chalotra, SSP VOJ a team was constituted, which was actively coordinated by V K Bhat, Dy SP and Inspr Zaffer Amin, Inspr Kamal Sangra, Inspr Ashok Singh and resultantly Baj Singh, Girdawar presently posted as I/C Patwari Halqa Karyal Brahmana Tehsil Bishnah was apprehended red handed with the tainted money which he had taken from the complainant and was arrested on the spot.Meanwhile in another case of trap , local court today granted 10 days police remand to the arrested cop namely Rahul Dogra , who was arrested few days ago from Khelani Doda for demanding and accepting the bribe from complainant for not implicating the complainant in a case.The accused cop namely Rahul Dogra, who in capacity of IC/PP Khelani, demanded money from complaint and arrested accordingly. Dogra is at present lodged with Pacca Danga police station. Earlier the accused was sent to four days remand on May 18.
