Jammu, May 21: 'One step forward and backward' aptly fits to the tall claims of Jammu University (JU) authorities to create peaceful atmosphere with in Campus as certain officials allegedly are encouraging 'hooligans/ gunda elements' in the campus which is apparent from reported counter FIR against a victim of bullying by some that too at behest of some black moles within JU authorities. Sources in University said in a bizarre incident an active student leader of National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) was today attacked by two students from Jammu University near old vice Chancellor's chamber. "When the victim reported the matter to police post Nehru Market, the administration of Jammu University in order to counter the victim is likely to file a counter FIR against the victim as the University administration allegedly doesn't want active student leadership in the campus," sources said. They said that to strengthen their lobby within University and to root out committed student leadership, the some moles within university administration are likely to file a counter FIR against a student leader, who had filed FIR against alleged touts of certain faculty members for thrashing him while he was in the university to purchase an admission form cum brochure for JUET-2014 . Pertinently, Jammu University Administration on May 16 have issued a notification vide No 4575-4774 which reads that "A candidate having any pending case or any FIR registered against him/her has to produce character certificate of the concerned police station /police post. "Moreover, it adds, "a candidate with criminal background shall not be considered for admission to any course/programme in a PG Department or college or institution affiliated to the university." Meanwhile all attempts to get comments from university authorities, none of the university official responded the phone calls. |
