| 'Rest of three months shall end with Government versus Employees: Qayoom | | EJAC threatens to announce fresh protest calendar | | Javaid Naikoo
SRINAGAR, May 21: Within hours after bindings of Modal code of conduct (MCC) concluded, Employees Joint action Committee (EJAC) while terming the government policies anti people and misleading threatened to launch time to time state wide protest programmes in support of their long pending demands. Talking to Early Times, President EJAC, Abdul Qayoom Wani while indicting to launch state wide protest programmes in support of their long pending demands said that 'when this government is likely to expire within next three months, employees association has decided to come on roads more regularly now onwards with more effective policies against the government which according to him has only misled them time and again and is ultimately responsible for prevailing sufferings to poor families of employees.' "We have 18 years old daily wagers in PHE department waiting for regularization, ReTs deprived of justice, casual labours suffering badly, but this government with anti people policies instead providing any solution has always misled us and now time has come that it shall be government versus employees on roads."Said EJAC President Abdul Qayoom He said that 'we did everything on our part to solve the matter peacefully with government over the years and when office bearers could not understood our formal parlance our employees asking for justice came on roads in support of their demands, we were sent to jails, beaten on roads and every time when we were asked to sit with office bearers we were deceived within minutes after coming out of such meetings.' "We were waiting for MCC bindings to over, we are meeting tomorrow and hopefully announce our first effective protest programme so that deprived, deceived employees could get their due share right before this government expires in near future." Said EJAC President While welcoming the decision of government which under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as part of their introspection policy after lifting ban on Prepaid SMS service today also scrapped the new job policy, Abdul Qayoom Wani Said that job policy was irking highly educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir as under the recruitment policy of 2011, the appointees for Class-IV and non-gazetted posts during the first five years of appointment, were given a meager amount as stipend instead of regular salary and the policy had triggered massive resentment among the state's educated youth. Pertinently the decision to scrape job policy came within hours after NC-Congress alliance faced a rout in the Lok Sabha polls, losing all the six seats in the state and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as part of his introspection policy to know the reasons of defeat to NC-Congress alliance candidates received emails as a feed back on his gupkar @gmail.com from people asking for scrapping new job policy to gain sympathy of people in coming times. |
