| Nature's havoc in Kishtwar, 150 families shifted to safer place | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 24: Nature's havoc continued to disrupt normal life in Kishtwar as landslide and shooting stones triggered from Pogal Top in Checha area of mountainous Kishtwar district particularly in four villages Dadkan, Phirgham, Ajjana and Pullar forcing 150 families to take shelter in an open. Meanwhile due to non availability of road to the affected areas, the district administration's help is yet to reach to affected villagers till last report came in. As per the details available with "Early Times", the recent incessant rains in the area have triggered landslide and shooting stones in the area creating panic among people. The reports also added that affected families including women and children were seen spending their day in open as the district administration team yet has to arrive to extend helping hand. "The District Administration Kishtwar has deputed a team comprising Assistant Commissioner Revenue Sudarshan Kumar, Tehsildar Kishtwar and others which yet has to reach to affected villages to distribute tents and other relief material, reports said . further adding, " though the team has left district headquarter but the team has to cover 6 to 8 hour uphill journey and is likely to reach by tomorrowmorning." |
